Slimlite Plano 8 x 11" LED Light Pad is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent light pad Very even light source which works great for digitizing negatives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Suits my purpose fine I use this for macro photography of sand grains and small transparent flowers and insects. This one does not have to be plugged in all the time because of the lithium battery and it can be dimmed. It is amazingly thin and when used with overhead lights will diminish shadows

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ahhh...the smell of old negatives For all the old geezers out there, who could ever forget the smell of fixer and hypo clearing agent?? Been using this for about two weeks since it arrived, while sorting through old negatives and slides. The Kaiser is exactly as advertised: very slim and compact, and the light across the surface is very even. I've even used this to digitize some old 6x6 Vericolor negatives from the 1970s, and the new digital images are very impressive. Would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, portable light box also perfect for slide copying Thin and easy to place / use on a copystand for copying transparencies, but for this purpose you will need a macro lens or a set of closeup lenses. Light level is easy to adjust for perfect results even for slightly over and under exposed originals. Built in battery is convenient when using as a light box but long cord makes it easy to connect to AC power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for digitizing film negatives Works great as a light table for digitizing negatives. The lighting is very even and diffuse, except maybe some very minor variation at the extreme edges of the pad. The colour of the light is very neutral - when I digitize a black and white negative, it comes out perfectly black and white with no colour cast, even before I convert the digitized version to black and white mode. The specs on B&H show a CRI of 88, however the unit I received lists a CRI of 95, which is, theoretically even better for colour negatives/slides. Maybe the latest versions have improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Medium format film scan... Tripod, D810,28-70mm @ f/16,KenkoAuto Extension Tube Set, Slimlite Plano, and a sheet of glass from an old picture frame = fantastic. I "scanned" quite a few medium format negatives. Several of which were accepted as stock at Arcangel so the quality is great! Be careful not to scratch your Slimlite with the edge of your glass. Also great for light painting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product so far.... Even light. Good battery life. Light boxes have come a long way since my first one bought way back in 1997! This one is pricey but you get what you pay for in this case. The larger sizes are a better deal however this small one has a brighter footprint. Recommend it....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value. Does what I want it to do. If you want a small inexpensive light box, I think you will be very happy with the Kaiser Slimlite. I am in the middle of doing a lot of scanning of old negatives and the Slimlite is a great help in sorting things out. Just be sure that 8x11 will meet your needs. It is compact, doesn't take up a lot of desk space, but once in a while I think I should have bought the next larger size, so that the on/off button would be more out of the way when you are sliding film strips around.
