Nikon L340 reviews

COOLPIX L340 Digital Camera (Black) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for old Coolpix L3 Purchased it for her birthday. She wanted something simple, light and small enough to fit in a leather purse. I have a DSLR and she said it's way to big, heavy and complicated. The L340 is a simple to use point & shoot with a super zoom range equivalent to 22.5 to 630mm in 35mm perspective. She would like to do some macro and wildlife shots both of which this camera is suited to. 20.2MP and ISO up to 1600. She took about 30 shots at all zoom lengths and several macro shots all of which amazed me for such an inexpensive camera. She took two shots from the same spot full zoom and wide angle and both were surprisingly sharp. When viewed on her laptop you could read the numbers on a mailbox about a 1/4 mile away at full zoom. The VR seems to work well. It has a full auto mode, several program or scene modes and many parameters can be specified such as ISO. Great buy. Lots of camera for the money. Might get one for myself as a take along everywhere camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Camera This is the second time I've bought this camera. I used the first one so much some of the functions stopped working right. I love the zoom- i used the first camera for years at my son's baseball games & I got so many good action shots. There's was a lot of baseball dirt/dust that I'd have to keep cleaning off the camera so maybe that's why 1st one stop working so well. If I had to point out anything negative I guess I'd say maybe it has a short shutter lag and i thought it took better pictures outside than inside. If I overuse the 2nd camera & it stops working so well again, I'd definitely buy a 3rd!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed with performance I'm a professional photographer, wanted to gift this camera. But on testing I found serious issues : 1. Camera has focusing issues - Its slow . I thought I can live with it. Then tried to test video recording 2. During video capture it records the motor noise if you pan or zoom and in replay that noise is quiet loud and spoils the mood. Another thing is the moment you zoom out or slow zoom in it goes out of focus temporarily . this happens even to a stationary object. 3. Due to its slow focusing issue, you miss lots of perfect moments and the photo comes shaky . I tried to capture some portraits of my cat, but it was very difficult to capture one good image, as by the time the camera focuses my subject moved . Sadly I had to return withing hours of purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great camera. B&H is the place to go. B&H kept their promise and sold me a new-in-box camera for approximately $50 less than the average price. I briefly reviewed and tested the product, then put it away. Found no issues. Haven't used it, but expect no issues.
