This large Realtree MAX-5 LensCoat TravelHood is designed for 400mm f/2.8, 600mm f/4, and 800mm f/5.6 lenses as a lightweight and portable alternative to a standard lens hood. Can someone who owns the large Lenscoat Travel Hood, tell me the length, not counting the Velcro straps? B&H shows 11.95 inches but I think this is incorrect. I have a Sony 400 f2.8 lens.
It is roughly 9 inches wide by 24 inches long.

I was told by someone who purchased the small LensCoat travel hood that it was too small and really didn't fit the 500 F4 ll very well. How is the fit and will the next size up fit better?
Unfortunately we cannot measure or test this combination as the Canon 500mm F4 ll lens hood is a Special Order item, and LensCoat does not provide any dimensions for the travel hood. We would recommend you contact LensCoat for recommendations based upon the equipment.

I have the Canon 600mm F/4 II. When you're not using the standard hard lens hood, the cloth/velcro lens cap doesn't really fit on the end of the lens snugly. How do you all cover your lens front?
