I want to cut the hardwired dummy batter cord to ...

I want to cut the hardwired dummy batter cord to make this more nimble (I saw that someone else did this and it didn't effect functionality). I'd like to then get a Z battery dummy to either USB or barrel as it seems like plugging that into one of the out ports woudl effectively be the same thing. Any reason others can see why this wouldn't work? (I'd get a barrel or USB rated to 15V just to allow for variance.
Asked by: Dane
Unfortunately, I cannot speak to the performance of the Sony NPA-MQZ1K Multi Battery Adapter Kit if you cut the power cable. The connected cord is not designed to be cut, and cutting the cord would void the manufacturer's Limited 1-Year Warranty.

Would it be possible to use this to power a camera while also powering a monitor, like the SmallHD 502? Would I need an LP-E6 dummy battery?
Asked by: Charles
You have a 12 v out as well as two USB outs. If you had for batteries in this at full charge and the dummy in the sony camera, you could totally get a USB to barrel or barrel to barrel to hook into the dummy LP-E6 that comes with the 502 (I just did it today and it came with mine it might have been a SmallHD promo).

How fast does this charge 4 batteries to full?

How fast does this charge 4 batteries to full?
Asked by: Christian
I cannot answer that as I find that I only charge two at a time and have the other two in the camera. I believe the batteries are charged one at a time in the charger and not all at once. Time wise, the charger is pretty fast.

Dooes it acutally work with a7R IV? Compatibility list on the website says so, but the camera doesn't have a hole in the usual battery lid.
Asked by: Arseniy
It does work with the a7R IV. I've been using it for almost a year now for my a7R IV batteries and have never had an issue, works perfect.

question

I shot with this charger for a full day in studio, and by the end of the day it said battery exhausted - that was with four batteries and the dummy battery plugged into the camera and the ac adapter plugged into a working outlet - shouldn't this in theory be left on for days and power the camera?
Asked by: Daniel W.
Depends on the usage, workload, and environmental factors.
