Benro TSL08AN00 Tripod with Ball Head Overview

This TSL08AN00 Slim Aluminum-Alloy Tripod from Benro supports up to 8.8 lb and includes an Arca-type ball head with quick release plate. Designed to conserve space during storage and transport, the tripod measures 20.1" long and 3.2" wide when folded. Its 4-section legs each feature an independent spread, a 3-position angle lock, half-turn twist locks for rapid deployment, and a rubber foot to enhance stability on a wide variety of surfaces. Together, the three legs can be extended and spread to raise the tripod from a minimum height of 15.7" to a maximum height of 48.4" or 57.6" with its push-and-pull, rapid center column fully raised.

Cameras, lenses, or sport optics that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the included quick release plate. The quick release plate can be attached or removed from the integrated, Arca-type clamp located at the top of the head's ball-and-socket joint by tightening or loosening the clamp's knurled, locking knob. While the top of the quick release plate features a rubberized, non-slip platform, dual retaining screws are provided along its underside. Those retaining screws help prevent the quick release plate and an attached camera from accidentally sliding off when the clamp it is placed on is opened.

By loosening the ball head's primary locking knob, the head's ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Additionally, the primary locking knob controls the ability to pan the head 360°. For added versatility, the tripod's center column is reversible, facilitating low-angle photography where an attached camera is positioned among the tripod's legs instead of above them.

A nylon, drawstring bag is provided for storage and transport.

First decent quality tripod ive owned. Love the value and slim size. Still feels stable for crop camera with a 400 lens. Am more likely to take everywhere with the camera backpack. Always had flip lock leg levers but these twist locks are better as they are only a half twist. Not having levers means less likely to snag on loose belts or clothing. Feels very professional with the cool blue twists locks. Also was pleasantly surprised to find two bubble levels - on both top of the legs and another very small one on the head under the quick release. Had not read any other reviewers report 2 bubble levels. Simple in design but well thought out and engineered for just over 100$

Can you shoot down for flat lay photography or do you need an arm?

The tripod does not have a column that goes horizontal. The center column is reversible, facilitating low-angle photography where an attached camera is positioned among the tripod's legs instead of above them. If the object is large you will need to use a tripod arm. This is a link for some of them, https://bhpho.to/3nabqRy

I don't own a Canon camera. But tripod threads (the portion that screws onto the bottom of the camera), are pretty universal.

question

Hi, I take interest for this tripod but I need to ask some questions please. 1) I need to use the tripod in short time and I'm noticing it has the knobs. I think you will need more time to turn those knobs than the keys with the spring snap to stretch its stems. 2) I need to put the same plate on the gimbal, do you know if it is possibile to buy thta plate separately? I thank you a lot for your info.
Asked by: Alvaro
Yes, the arca plate is a standard plate that is sold separately. We have a Canon SL2, Canon 70D, 5D Mark II and an XF100 all with arca plates on them for use with this stand. We use the Peak Design Slide straps for all three DSLR's and the mount comes with the strap as well.https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1141808-REG/peak_design_sl_t_2_slide_tallac_navy_strap_caramel_leather.htmlAs far as speed, it depends on your dexterity, and if you want to move real fast, just use one leg as a mono pod. We use this both in studio for a B Camera mount for the XF100 and as our field mount. It is much better build the any of the tab type tripods we have. It is a little heavier, but very easily field usable, and once you get good with the twist-drop-twist, I think you fill find this to be a great tripod for the money given the quality.
