Benro TSL08CN00 overview

  • 1Description

This TSL08CN00 Slim Tripod from Benro is constructed from carbon fiber to minimize weight, supports up to 8.8 lb, and includes an Arca-type ball head with quick release plate. Designed to conserve space during storage and transport, the tripod measures 20.1" long and 3.2" wide when folded. Its 4-section legs each feature an independent spread, a 3-position angle lock, half-turn twist locks for rapid deployment, and a rubber foot to enhance stability on a wide variety of surfaces. Together, the three legs can be extended and spread to raise the tripod from a minimum height of 15.7" to a maximum height of 48.4" or 57.6" with its push-and-pull, rapid center column fully raised.

Cameras, lenses, or sport optics that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the included quick release plate. The quick release plate can be attached or removed from the integrated, Arca-type clamp located at the top of the head's ball-and-socket joint by tightening or loosening the clamp's knurled, locking knob. While the top of the quick release plate features a rubberized, non-slip platform, dual retaining screws are provided along its underside. Those retaining screws help prevent the quick release plate and an attached camera from accidentally sliding off when the clamp it is placed on is opened.

By loosening the ball head's primary locking knob, the head's ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Additionally, the primary locking knob controls the ability to pan the head 360°. For added versatility, the tripod's center column is reversible, facilitating low-angle photography where an attached camera is positioned among the tripod's legs instead of above them.

A nylon, drawstring bag is provided for storage and transport.

    Benro TSL08CN00 reviews

TSL08CN00 Slim Carbon-Fiber Tripod with Ball Head is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hiking tripod! I purchased the Benro TS108 slim carbon fiber tripod for hiking. I am very happy with the size, weight and function with it. Very sturdy when used as designed. I like the ability to reverse the center column for ground shots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice travel tripod - lot's of features. I bought this on the recommendation of Youtuber Joe Edelman. very light, yet sturdy for travel tripod. Benro makes an aluminum version of this for less money. Easy to carry. Ball head is small, but very smooth. I have used this in my makeshift studio with my crop sensor Canon DSLR and a fairly heavy old medium telephoto lens and got good results, but I just know it would be very easy for this setup to tip over - recommend using the weight hook on the bottom of the center tube. With everything extended fully, it is tall enough to be about eye level for me and I am 5' 10", but usually I will not use it fully extended. The center tube can be turned upside down to get the camera very close to the ground. Comes with a usable nylon fabric carrying case. I've seen a lot of tripods in this price range that just felt like junk - this feels like quality! Twist locks are easy to use, feel good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable Carbon Fiber Tripod I'm glad I was able to get a quality carbon fiber tripod at this price point. This is my first (and hopefully last) tripod. It's taller than competing tripods, but the slim design allows it slide deeper into a backpack sleeve. It still fits into my carry on luggage easily. The Benro has good height, the legs don't flex when pressure applied and its lightweight. The tripod is very stable, even with orientating my camera vertically in 10 mph winds (a7iii with 18-105mm lens). My only gripe is the tension lever on the ball head could be less sensitive. There's an overly fine line in the tension between holding the camera up and letting the camera drop. Because of this, I am used to holding the body/lens every time I make adjustments. Although, I think this is probably good practice anyway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic feather weight This is truly a great tripod, so light weight and needed for travel. Feels good to have a light weight around when you need one. It certainly adds up to be one of the best. The leg adjustments release and lock like a charm. This tripod has a nice feel to it and is accented by beautiful blue pieces. Now, there is a con, the release for unlocking then ball, also controls the panning. Wish they operated separately but I can deal with it, it truly is a gem of a tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for I wanted a lightweight but sturdy tripod for film cameras, particularly my Nikon FM-2 and my Olympus OM-1. Small packing volume was less important and I didn't want to fuss with too many leg sections. I was willing to pay up to $200. This one at half that price is perfect for my needs. With the legs collapsed you can lock them or release them in one partial turn. Extended, of course, you must do all three locks on a leg individually. It's very stable, and even holds my Hasselblad 501C securely. The PU 30 QR plate is fine with most lenses, but there's a bit of "sag" after I tighten the ball head with a 200mm lens on the FM-2. A 60mm plate from Breakthrough Photography took care of that. I can't speak to its longevity, but it's so well made I'm confident I'll get a lot of service from it. This was a completely satisfying purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value when on sale Good value for the money. Carbon fiber legs look smooth and consistent. Aluminum leg locks feel wonderful. Head is basic and locks up solid, but feels a little sloppy (hitching) when loose. Might just be my sample. Will be very useful and I would buy again.
