Looking back, I wish I had paid the extra money for the full C200 instead of piecing it together bit by bit.

I used on my C300 MKII camera.
Feels great. I almost want to sell my C300 MKII, but this monitor brings it to another level. Touch screen autofocus feels great.
I like it a lot.

The monitor is great but it's insane that you have to spend this much money on the monitor and then you need a cable that costs another $275! Are you kidding me? $275 for a cable to use an LCD that already costs $650 that's just insane. It's a solid product but the price is ludicrous.

The clamshell monitor/audio combo on my C300 mkii is my least favorite part of the camera. The combination of being able to place this monitor anywhere on the camera with a small friction arm, the button layout that allows you access to all aspects of the camera and its menus, and the touch screen auto focus breathes new life into the C300 mkii. Requires a firm ware upgrade.
Great Indoor Monitor, Really Bad in Bright Daylight Without

Coming from the C100 Mark II, the image quality of this monitor is a big step forward. Very sharp, great contrast and detail. The white edge peaking from the C200 is comparable to that of a Small HD monitor. And the touch screen is very responsive. In the right lighting, this monitor is excellent. However, this monitor is hugely handicapped in bright sunlight. Without a shade (and there isn't a designated C200 monitor shade at the time of this review as far as I know), this monitor is unusable in bright outdoor light. If you plan on playing slider shots outside, bring another monitor, or be ready to contort your body into using the viewfinder because you won't be able to see anything on the LM-V1. Canon absolutely needs to release a designated shade for this, as Panasonic has for it's EVA-1 monitor, because in bright daylight it's useless. I've made my Small HD 501 with the designated shade my primary outdoor monitor with the C200 because the LM-V1 is, to be honest, no where near as visible as the 501 in bright light without a shade. I don't mean to be harsh, but if you own a 5 Small HD monitor, there's a really good chance you'll just use that as your primary C200 monitor, because the LM-V1, while excellent indoors, is highly ineffective to completely useless when the sun is out without a shade.

Though it isn’t B&H’s fault, this monitor is INCREDIBLY overpriced. It works excellent and is beautifully clear. However, it is very small and has limited versatility for a more rigged out setup. I don’t regret the purchase but my bank account certainly wasn’t happy!
Great Addition

I originally purchased the C200b with an external 7” monitor/recorder. While it’s great having an external recorder, this monitor makes quick shoots and running & gunning SOOO much easier. The monitor is super accurate, the touch focus is awesome, and it’s an amazing addition to the C200b. The only problem is that it is WAY too expensive. Especially given you need to buy a super overpriced cable and some sort of mount too. I’m still happy with my purchase though.
