Amazing flash!

Most of my camera flash experience has been with a vintage Vivitar flash on my Canon AE-1 so I am not an expert with using flash in my compositions. That being said, I picked up a set of Eneloop Pro NiMH rechargeable AA's for this and after almost 250 test shots at various power levels and focal ranges, it didn't give me a low battery warning. It synced up with my Sony A7ii instantly and was a breeze to learn how to use it and its various functions. The swivel and tilt head feels solid and well constructed. The flash itself was bright enough to bring a 15'x12' room in total darkness to looking like it was full on daylight. The diffuser provided subjects with a pleasing softness that anything in a poorly lit room look like it was the star of professional photo shoot. Using the flash face forward to subjects instead of bouncing the flash provided that 90s disposable film camera look, depending on your style could be a good or bad thing. But adjusting the flash power down and shooting in RAW made it easy to fix the harshness from the flash. Overall this was an incredible purchase and I can't believe I never bought one sooner.

I mainly use a flash for fill light when photographing people and pets but this little unit is so easy to work with that I am reaching for it more often than I thought would. My only complaint is that the plastic on the foot is a few thousands to thick which makes it hard to slid it in and out of the camera shoe. I do not suggest that you do this but I carefully remove a little bit of plastic and now I can slide it in and out without fear of breaking the foot.

I only need to use a flash occasionally so the price was right and the capabilities of this model are plenty good for me.

I love this flash! This has been perfect for indoor people photos of my family, as well as a lightweight fill flash for outdoors. I've found that the metering is pretty close, although occasionally I have to adjust it 1/3rd of a stop or so from the TTL standard. Uses two AA batteries, which makes battery swaps simple with enough battery life for my purposes. Overall a great buy, especially at this price point.

Great compact flash! Small, light and powerful. I opted for this unit fir the AA batteries versus the rechargeable in which I have mistakenly left at home before. Lol It's nice to know if in a pinch you can buy batteries anywhere for it and also still being able to use AA rechargeable ones is nice too. Have gotten up to 300 shots to 2 AA's. Can't beat the price either. Does everything all the other godox flashes do. Definitely recommend.

WORKS LIKE A CHARM!

once I figured out that flash only works in single shot I was extremely happy. Super fun to play with and definitely makes a diff with shooting indoors or in dark settings. Absolutely get. 10/10

The manual says it is tested with 10 different models on Canon including with the 5D III - no info on the 5D IV but they just say self testing with other models. I use it on a Canon 77D and it works fine - that model is not listed as tested in my manual.

Is the same flash duration and sync speed? What is its sync speed?
Asked by: Nino
The Flash Duration for any strobe or flash is technically the length of time that the flash tube emits light for a single burst. Sync speed is the fastest shutter speed a camera can shoot while firing a flash.
