The 77mm NanoPro MC ND 3.0 Filter from Haida is an ND filter with a 1000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Its 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

Haida NanoPro Overview

The 77mm NanoPro MC ND 3.0 Filter from Haida is an ND filter with a 1000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes 10 layers of anti-reflection coatings, which also offer greater protection to the filter substrate and help keep it clean for a longer period of time. The Nano coating associated with the Haida 77mm NanoPro MC Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter provides an additional layer that results in an improved beading effect when the surface comes in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning.

A thin, aluminum-alloy filter ring minimizes the potential for vignetting, while remaining durable and lightweight.

Haida NanoPro Reviews

Almost Perfect

I have used the filter only twice so far. First time was an image of a fast-running river. Filter worked well to smooth out the water. However, with a wide aperture there was corner vignetting. I was a little disappointed. Next, I tested the filter in my backyard using 16-35mm and a 24-70mm lenses. When wide open, the filter produced some corner vignetting with both lenses. In the mid to long range of the lenses, there was no vignetting. I will need to keep this in mind when using the filter so I don't have to crop off desired parts of the image.

What can I say about this filter other than what is in the header? Worked good.

I've been using my new Hasselblad X1D II for about six months, and needed to improve the prospects of sky effects, as Scott Kelby discusses in his classes. This filter provides that capability for the XCD lenses

Works as expected, but keep in mind most neutral density filters have some color cast.

Excellent color and accuracy

I have tested this filter three times now in daylight and artificial light and am very satisfied; it's earned a place in my kit. Density was perhaps a quarter stop less than 10 stops. The color is extremely accurate, varying from my no filter control shot by about 50 degrees K cooler and (in Capture One) 2.5 greener. These are extremely small adjustments. My 10 stop B+W gives a very strong red-warm cast that is hard to eliminate completely with a grey balance, a color cross-over likely due to infrared leaking through the filter. Sharpness: using a Nikon D850, 20mm f/1.8 lens, tripod, mirror up, electronic front curtain shutter, f/8, default settings in C1, at 100% view onscreen the Haida is indistinguishable in the center from No Filter, and at the edges shows only a tiny resolution loss (typical of any filter). You have to go to 200% and compare side by side to see the subtle differences. With a longer focal length lens, I expect any differences to be even smaller. My verdict: excellent filter at a good price. I plan to buy a second in a different size and see no reason to search other brands.

Does what it says perfectly

Very thin and high quality construction. Image sharpness was not affected on my Sony a7riii and 100-400 GM. No color cast whatsoever. I took pictures of my Xrite Color Checker with and without the filter, and there is no visible difference between the 2 profiles.

Correct color control

I decided on a circular filter, due to the ease and speed of assembly, I also found in the Haida brand an excellent quality glass, a very high control of certain color dominances, compared to much more expensive filters. I wanted to buy polar pro, but the cost is high compared to this one, and although there are differences, it is not something that makes me consider investing so much money in a glass that will not be put every day in my lenses. As a bonus, I have taken the Haida to very extreme tests in the Chilean heathen, in the cold and in the Atacama desert, in the heat and dust. I recommend it
