Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Overview

Designed for active photographers, the gray CCS G3 Binocular and Camera Harness from Cotton Carrier helps to evenly distribute the weight of a camera and a pair of binoculars. This arrangement keeps the camera and binoculars at the ready for making the most of spontaneous photographic opportunities, while also keeping hands free, equipment safer from grab-and-go theft, and reducing unwanted camera movement. Photographers will appreciate the one-size-fits-all approach, comprised of adjustable shoulder straps and a quick-release waist belt.

Two stash pockets for memory cards or batteries and a large exterior pocket provide storage for accessories. The CCS G3 Harness is constructed from Kodra synthetic canvas and anodized aluminum, and features a Twist & Lock camera mounting system and vented back panel. Included with your harness are two tether straps, a universal binocular bracket, a Wanderer Side Holster, a camera hub with rubber washer, a camera hub mounting bolt, an Allen key, and a rain cover.

Binoculars
Universal binocular mount designed for horizontal carrying, also allows for tripod mounting.
Advantages
A quick-release waist belt with speed straps, two stash pockets for carrying extra memory cards or small items on the front, a large outside pocket on the back, and a touch-fastening lens hold-down strap work together for improved hands-free usage with greater mobility.
Twist & Lock Mount
The Twist & Lock camera mount system provides stability and security. One twist locks the camera in place, making it difficult for grab-and-go theft. It also stabilizes the camera so the wearer is free to move vigorously without excessive camera movement/banging.
Tripod Compatibility
The CCS G3 Camera Harness features a Twist & Lock mounting system. Included is an aluminum flat-hub which mounts onto all cameras with a 1/4"-20 tripod mounting socket. This hub also has its own 1/4"-20 tripod mount.
Optional Items - Sold Separately

Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Reviews

Great for hiking

The harness works great with a camera and 500mm telephoto lens. It is especially useful for off-trail hiking, when you might need two hands and don't want to have a camera banging around on a strap. The one downside is that I have trouble keeping the mounting hardware attached to my binoculars, as it requires a velcro strap and my particular bins have a tapered barrel.

Comfortable and very functional

This harness is easy to put on and is very comfortable. I had no issues adjusting the straps and positioning the connection points to be easy to secure and release my camera and binoculars. Three things that I wish it provided: 1. the same secondary connection place on the left side as it has on the right side, 2. rings to attach the safety straps further to the side, and 3. an extra male-end safety strap piece. The reasons for these additions: 1. I find it more convenient and less awkward to access my camera on the left side with the binoculars in the center. I can move the secondary connection piece to the left, yet the harness lacks the Velcro attachment pad and the secondary connection piece covers the back strap connector making the harness a little more awkward to put on. 2. The safety straps sometimes get caught on the binoculars because they are right next to the center connection slot and they way I load and unhook my camera and binoculars sometimes the loop of safety strap gets caught. 3. When I attached the safety straps to the camera and binocular strap connectors, I had to remove the original camera and binocular neck straps. That makes it hard to use the camera or binoculars by themselves without using the vest. So I put a ring on the other strap connector and then used a spring carabiner on one end of the neck strap and the extra safety strap piece so I can connect either the original neck strap or the harness as needed. A second male-end safety strap piece would allow me to do the same for the camera and binoculars without having to switch the strap back and forth.
