Inday DA4X Overview

Switch four audio sources such as a digital TV, DVD player, CD player, or other source to one output such as a speaker system or mixer using this DA4X-R SPDIF 4x1 Digital Audio Switcher from Inday. The switcher allows input from four RCA/coax sources or four optical SPDIF sources and passes the audio from your selected source without processing or encoding to the single RCA/coax and single optical SPDIF outputs simultaneously.

The DA4X-R accepts any audio format such as PCM, DTS, Dolby, or AC3 and passes through signals supporting up to 192 kHz at 12.288 Mb/s. All the RCA connectors are gold-plated for the highest quality signal, and the TOSLINK ports all have built-in shutters so no port covers are required when they are not in use. The unit can be controlled with the included remote control, and a 12 VDC power adapter is also included.

Note:
If you connect both TOSLINK and RCA/coax to a single input, it will default to the RCA/coax input if a signal is present.

Works great, easy to set up. No power button, but plugged into switchable power output of receive. Comes with remote that I didn't know it had... Love it

Works as advertised!

Have had it functional for 2 weeks. Handy that the output coax and optical ports function simultaneously. So far so good.

If I have a pair of RCA inputs (coming from right and left outputs from a turntable), can this unit send both inputs (right and left) to the optical output (to get stereo sound)?
Asked by: Leonard
The Inday DA4X-R SPDIF 4x1 Digital Audio Switcher does not feature the ability to combine or mix inputs to be sent out of the device together. Because they would be summed coming out of the single optical or coax output anyhow, perhaps summing the stereo signal before it feeds the DA4X-R would allow you to achieve your desired outcome. Also note that this unit is expecting a digital signal not often found directly on turntable output connections themselves.

will this work backwards? I have one spdif signal that I want to send to multiple units still using it like a switcher.
Asked by: Raymond
This is a pass- through device, so it would work backwards as well.
