Equally suited to washing stages and highlighting particular performers or elements, the 130W Encore FR150Z from American DJ is an LED 8" Fresnel fixture offering a soft-edged 3000K warm-white beam with a CRI of 95. The included barndoors allow you to adjust the fixture's light dispersion, while the integrated manual zoom enables you to regulate the beam angle between 14 and 30°. The fixture is fitted with a bracket that can be easily secured into place at any desired angle using the built-in side-mounted locking levers.

The fixture offers smooth 0-100% digital dimming and is compatible with the standard DMX512 control protocol for easy integration into existing lighting systems. A 16-character backlit LCD display menu located on the side of the unit makes it easy to select a DMX address as well as any of the fixture's operating options. The FR150Z's connectivity interface includes XLR input and output sockets for connection to a DMX controller as well as powerCON input and output sockets for reducing cable runs by daisy chaining multiple fixtures from a single power supply. The Encore FR150Z includes a set of barndoors and ships with a powerCON power cord.

Overall, I really liked this fixture. It was very bright, and the light quality was good! Everything worked for us except the fade. The first time I powered on the fixture and tried to dim it I noticed that as soon as I was off 0 the fixture seemed bright. I thought maybe I didn't have a setting correct so I worked with it extensively trying the various dimming curve options. No matter what I did the lowest dim setting was like 15-20% brightness! Finally, I put the fixture in manual mode and moved from 0 to 1 with the same result. This might work in a different setting, but for our situation that dimming curve will not work since it doesn't match any other fixtures.
