question
I would like to use this on a 70-200 f2.8L lens. Will it fit??
YES, Technically you could buy a 77-72 step down ring and purchase the 72c adapter. In that use case you may have a small amount of vignetting to deal with.

question
Regarding the Canon MT-26EX-RT Macro Twin Lite, since this unit is RT, can the heads be detached from their cords and placed on goosenecks?
The heads can be detached from the bracket, but to use them they must remain connected to the cords. You can't control them wirelessly, though the unit that sits in the hot shoe can control other RT flashes.

question
From looking at the manual for the MT-26EX-RT, the unit can control other flash units (not just the included heads). Could this unit substitute for the ST-E3-RT in non-macro situations where the macro flash heads arent connected?
This can be a substitute ST-E3-RT. It is a wireless master.

I have a Canon MT-24 ex macro twin flash. It clips on my current 58 mm EF- 100 mm macro lens. Will this adapter fit the new RF 100 macro L lens? Will my old 24-ex macro flash still clip onto the end of the new 100 mm RF lens?
As the Canon RF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM Lens has 67mm front filter threads, not 58mm front filter threads, you would need to purchase the Canon 67 Macrolite Adapter, B&H # CAMLA67, in order to mount the Canon MT-26EX-RT Macro Twin Lite onto the Canon RF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM Lens.
