Tiffen 67TPK1 overview

  • 1Description

This kit consists of a: a UV Protection filter, an 812 Warming filter, a circular polarizer and 4-pocket filter pouch.

UV Protection Filters
Haze(UV) filters are wise initial investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired they can be left on the lens at all times for protection. Haze filters provide additional benefits of correction for Ultraviolet(UV) light which can register on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can obscure distant details. Ultraviolet filters allow you to correct for the UV effect to varying degrees.

812 Filters
Tiffen's exclusive 812 Filter improves skin tones and is ideal for portraits taken on a cloudy day or outdoors in shade on a sunny day. It also absorbs blue cast often caused by electronic flash and adds warmth to pale washed-out flesh tones.

Circular Polarizers
Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun. Filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approx. +1.3 stops).

Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems and video cameras without problems).

    Tiffen 67TPK1 reviews

67mm Photo Essentials Filter Kit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from it gets the job done the three filters are great as far as quality goes and the only problem i have run into is some vignetting when you stack more than one filter on the Nikkor 18-70 DX lens at 18mm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You can do better All three filters had a film on them (that required REPEATED attempts to clear). Unimpressed with storage case. For what I paid for them (got them free in a bundle with lens) they will work until I get replacements (which won't be long at all). Good glass requires really good filters (though some would say no filters), else you just ruined the benefits of the good glass.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from gotta haves You get the basic gotta have filters for your lens at a great price. My only problem is the case they come in. It's just a folding pouch, and if you open them the wrong way, I could see a slight possibility of the filters slipping out as you open it. I would prefer something that overs a little more protection, but it's not bad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Average Filters Fair value. Thin lens rims, CPL filter is OK. UV is just as good as any lens protector. warming filter seems to be of questionable quality. Won't use it again as it seems it imparts fringing / halo cast on subjects. The carry case is nice, but I'll probably replace these in the future

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for every lens! This is the perfect kit to buy with any new lens. Not only do you get a UV protector for everyday use, but you also get a circular polarizer and a warming filter and a pouch to hold it all. At the end of the day you get one of these filters for free when purchased as a kit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from On the fence . . . Polarizer does not seem to have as much color variance as other polarizers I have had. There is no part number on the filter so you cannot review it as an independent lens. You get what you pay for ... Stacking the three filters interferes with field of vision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't go wrong with Tiffen it's a nice set of filters at a great value. I picked up a off brand UV filter when I got the lens just a protection but decided that I needed something btter since it kept comming off, The Tiffen doesn't dissapoint soild build and stays in place

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Filter Kit Great starter kit. Filters needed cleaning. I tried this kit on a family vacation to the beach. Good buy for the price. I didn't not have a problem with the lens cap attaching as others have. One lens screwed on fine but never completely.
