I have this lens and mine is made in china as engraved in very concealed minuscule letters in the back of the lens.
Plus side is that it came bundled with both tele converters 2x and 1.4x
I hope the quality is the same as the ones made in Japan...

The Panasonic Leica DG Elmarit 200mm f/2.8 POWER O.I.S. Lens has not been tested with the Olympus Olympus MC-20 M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter. Technically it is compatible but the lens might not have all features.

Can you mount the hood in reverse for transporting?
The hood, like most other Panasonic-Leica lenses, slides onto the front and secures with a set screw. The hood can be reversed and tightened onto the lens for travel.

The 1.4 TC comes with the lens. It works now with two other Lumix Leica lenses, the 50-200 and the 100-400 v2. In tests the 1.4 TC has exceptional quality and does not degrade the image quality at all.
The 1.4 TC is very expensive on the used market since apparently it is not sold separately.
The 2.0 TC works with these three lenses as well.

In terms of image sharpness, would this lens be considered an upgrade of Olympus 300mm f/4 Pro?
I don't own any of these lenses. still analyzing which would be best for mi intended use as well as the 100/400 Panasonic/leica zoom.
Sharpness wise a prime will always beat a zoom. Between the 200 pan/leica and the Olympus 300 I'd go with the one that matches your camera brand (Olympus or Panasonic) I assume.
The reach difference in favor of the Olympus is almost null with the included leica 1.4 x Tele extender plus the faster speed makes the leica a no brainer if you have a Lumix camera
