My Contax lens didn't fit on this adapter correctly, I had to wrap it with black tape and it worked well enough for one shoot. I've read of people who have taken these adapters apart and fixed the springs so that the lens can fully rotate on. Super frustrating that they are selling a faulty product and completely aware of the issues.
This adapter allows me to use my Zeiss Planar T 80mm f/2 for Contax 645 lens on my Fuji 50 GFX 50r camera. There is no electronic connection with the camera, so you cannot use autofocus or the cameras aperture control. I dont mind manually focusing, since Fujis focus peaking feature allows me to zone in almost better than AF. The one important thing to note is that this adapter also does not allow you to use anything except wide open aperture. Even manually, you cannot change the aperture on the lens. I was surprised by this and emailed Fotodiox and they wrote back Unfortunately, aperture control with Contax 645 lenses is not possible with our manual adapters. So just know that youll be shooting wide open all the time -- which is not a problem for me as I use this as a specialty portrait lens and love the wide open look. It is the most affordable adapter that I found for this this lens/camera combo and allows me to use a lens that I had previously put on the shelf. The images that camera and lens create together are beautiful. Five stars for affordability and the beautiful images created. I took off one star because I would have liked to know in advance that I can only use it wide open.
