Godox XPRON overview

  • 1Description

Using the 2.4 GHz Godox X wireless radio system, the XProN TTL Wireless Flash Trigger can be used to effectively and reliably trigger flashes from up to 328' away, and when used with compatible flashes and receivers users will have the added benefit of remote power control. This model is compatible with Nikon's i-TTL system, including support for high-speed sync up to 1/8000 second, and offers advanced control options along with settings for working with system-specific features. For ensuring maximum reliability and control, users can set up 16 groups on one of 32 channels and can then access 99 wireless ID settings for limiting interference from other nearby systems.

In addition to basic manual and TTL control modes, other settings are available, including stroboscopic flash and second-curtain sync. Users can adjust flash exposure compensation from -3 to +3 EV as well as wirelessly control the modeling light, zoom setting, and more. For using the XProN with other camera systems there is a 2.5mm sync port that supports triggering via a wired connection. Also, a USB Type-C port is present for firmware updates and the devices run on two AA batteries for convenience.

XProN TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Nikon Cameras is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT I use this product for my Nikon D-850 to trigger two Nikon speedlights off-camera, SB-700 & SB-800. If you are using Nikon speedlights like I am, you will also need to purchase the Godox X1R-N receiver at B&H here https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1341962-REG/godox_x1r_n_ttl_remote_controller.html?sts=pi which costs $40. You will need one receiver for each Nikon Speedlight. If you have Godox speedlights, the radio trigger is built-in. Operating each speedlight separately from this trigger is easy and works great. BTW, customer service from Godox does not exist. Fortunately, I've not needed them. Also, ensure you update the firmware for the triggers and receiver if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's worth to buy it I bought XProN and twoX1R-N units for my Nikon SB-5000 . I take a picture in TTL and with TCM I can switch to manual and adjust every flash separately : power , zoom etc. without going to my flashes and make adjustments . Works great , nomisfires .Making changes for each speedlight from XPoN is easy and saves time . Imagine if you had 4 speedlights on a 9' light stand and had to make adjustments to all of them, taking down putting back up thats pain in the a... . I have 4 pocketwizard IV which they cost twice us much and there is no HSS. Im going to buy another XPro and a fewX1R-N units and sell pocketwizards IV. So far Im very happy with this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problems using with D750 & SB-700 Was excited when I bought the XProN trigger & the X1 receiver. My flash triggers alright but excitement disappeared when I discovered that TTL flash mode never gave proper exposure, and the auto-zoom function kept the flash stuck in DX mode. Chat session with B&H yielded no solution. Tried contacting Godox and that was hopeless. I'll keep the unit but I'm forced to manual now. Very Disappointing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wireless Trigger I purchased several XPro-N and X1R-N units. They were recently used at a wedding event and it worked flawlessly. They are a wonderful products and dependable. There were no miss fires or reception issues. The rechargeable batteries lasted the entire 10 hour day.The larger display on the XPro-N is definitely a plus and helps me see the settings in low light conditions, especially during a wedding reception.Updating the units to the latest firmware was simple and straight forward.I hope Godox provide the ability to update the firmware via MAC computers in the near future. My only concern thus far with the XPro-N is with the TCM function that supposed to carry over the TTL results to a manual setting.I have not been able to get this to work properly with my Nikon 9XX flashes.Currently the values carried over are always over exposed by at least by two stops. Non-the-less, in my opinion, this issue does not diminish the capabilities of this system, which are priced very well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from IT works for manual but no TTL for SB 800 I bought this and two Godox X1R-N to use with my D850 and two SB800 flashes. It works fine as a manual trigger and the XPro is simple to use and manually change settings. However, the TTL mode doesn't work. It fired the flash but each the exposure was multiple EV's off and no two were alike. The TCM feature was something that I was excited to use. It was suppoed to record the camera generated flash exposure TTL settings and then convert to manual as a starting point but no TTL - no TCM. It may work fine with Godox flashes or SB 910-5000. The manual does not adequately explain some operations so I had to go to Utube for help. The previous reviewer is correct - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are located in China and you have a choice of email (2 sent with no response) or telephone (no 800) so good luck with that. Over all, it works well as a manual flash trigger and that is what I use 95% of the time but TTL would have been great for the missing 5%. All in all, it is an inexpensive solution

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it for AF Assist beam alone This controller excels at what it does, quick, intuitive, plays well with my D810 - disengaging the HSS function automatically drops my shutter to 1/250th, and the shutter returns to the previous setting when re-engaged. Neat. Has all the right buttons to work quickly and not get lost. BUT, I really love the AF assist beam, which has a nice grid of diagonal IR dashes which will help focus but not blind or distract your subjects. Just shot candids on the dance floor at a wedding without it, and this would have been handy to grab focus in an area that at 1/100th, f/1.4, and ISO 6400 was dim enough for the camera to struggle with finding contrast on its own. I love flash but in this environment all I needed was a little help to focus and retain the mood and ambiance of the scene. But if I wanted some directional light or a rim light this controller would have easily stepped in and delivered with a couple well-placed OCF's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Works flawlessly with my Ad200s and 860IIN flashes. Easy and straightforward to use to control all functions, including HSS, plus 5 channels with groupings if needed and/or necessary. Great bang for the buck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works perfectly with my Nikon D500 and SB-700. I use this with my D500 and SB-700 (together with a Godox X1r-N) and have had no issues at all so far.
