The Impact Photo Studio 2-Light LED Kit was put together by B&H to offer image-makers a 2-point, multi-use setup that's ideal for everything from portraiture to product work. The kit includes two 4-socket fixtures, each with four 60W daylight-balanced LED bulbs, a 20 x 27.5" softbox and a 6' light stand.

Impact 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture

The 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture from Impact is a lightweight fixture in a polycarbonate housing that accepts Edison-base compact fluorescent lamps up to 50W, for a four-socket total of 200W. The fixture's bracket tilts and locks into position and features a standard 5/8" receiver that mounts on any 5/8" stud or accessory, and also accepts standard photo umbrellas.

This Softbox for Fluorescent Fixtures from Impact is a 20 x 27.5" light modifier that softens the output of Impact FF-S1 and FF-S4 single- and four-socket fluorescent fixtures, as well as Impact's SF-ABRL160 Slave Flash.

The softbox can be used with up to four 50W fluorescent lamps for a total of 200W

Great for small to medium-size lights, the black anodized aluminum 6' Light Stand from Impact is a lightweight (1.8 lb) support that can handle gear weighing up to 4 lb and folds down to just 26.3" to easily fit in a small bag. The stand has a minimum working height of 26.3" and a stable footprint of 30". The 3-section stand has an industry-standard 5/8" top stud with 1/4"-20 threads for additional mounting options.

Raya 60W LED Daylight Studio Bulb

Create a photo quality continuous light source anywhere with a standard E26 Edison socket with this 60W LED Daylight Studio Bulb from Raya. Able to produce daylight-balanced 5400K light, this bulb can find uses in a variety of applications, especially being multi-voltage and switching from 100-240 VAC for worldwide use. Equivalent to a 250W incandescent bulb, it delivers a brightness of 4200 lumens at 3.3'. Also, it has a CRI of 84 for creating accurate colors. LED technology allows the light to run cool, and this is further assisted by a built-in fan. Additionally, it has a frosted finish for a soft output, as well as a rated average lifetime of 30,000 hours.

Pretty good for the price

I usually don't write a review until I've used a product pretty thoroughly. In this case I haven't had that yet, but I did test it out. I didn't find anything that seemed a problem. It's pretty well constructed and the bulbs seem to be c. 5K degrees equ. When I needed such a set-up in the past I usually used 3500 equ. ('Bright') CFL bulbs. That worked pretty well. Obviously, those can also be used in this fixture, and I experimented with different combos. I have one note of caution though: I've noticed over a year ago that using LED bulbs (the household, Edison base, variety) can leave uneven exposure bands sometimes. This is due to the LEDs' output tracking the AC power cycle more closely than a CFL. The plasma and phosphor coating in a CFL store a bit more energy.

Would give it 5 stars if it would allow switching on/off half of the bulbs. Unfortunately the only switch controls all four bulbs at the same time.

I am an outdoor photographer but occasionally need to shoot indoors. This is my first lighting purchase and I am pleased with them so far.

Good quality for permanent setup

This is a good product for the price, IF you are going to use it indoors in a permanent studio setup. The fixture is lightweight and easy to manipulate, but I would not want to put it to the test on location. I don't believe the product would hold up outdoors for very long. However, I am well pleased with the product and it works well in my indoor studio.

Is the Impact FF-S4 light kit TOO LOUD for video? One reviewer says that it is "loud as heck" and not usable for video. Since I want it for video, I don't want it if it generates noise.

No, the Impact Luxbanx Small Octagonal Softbox attaches to lights using a speedring. The Impact 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture does not work with speedrings. There are two dedicated softboxes that work with it.Impact 50 x 70 cm Softbox for Fluorescent Fixtures B&H # IMFFSB70 MFR # FF-SB70 and Impact 50 x 50 cm Softbox for Fluorescent Fixtures B&H # IMFFSB50 MFR # FF-SB50.

The Impact 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture, B&H # IMFFS4, is designed for use on 120 VAC 60 Hz voltage, and would not be compatible for use on 230 VAC voltage. The Impact FF-OF4 Octa 4-Socket Fluorescent Fixture, B&H # IMFFOF4, would be a fluorescent light fixture that would be compatible for use on 230 VAC voltage.

When I purchased, I looked at "In the Box" section and the lamps were not included. In fact "Not in the Box " section further clarified with "Lamps (Not Included)". So when I did not receive the lamps in the package I received, I wasn't disappointed. To answer the question, lamps are not included.

Unfortunately, no, the Impact 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture is not compatible for use with Bowens-mount softboxes. The Impact Softbox for Fluorescent Fixtures (20 x 27.5"), B&H # IMFFSB70, would be the dedicated softbox compatible for use with the Impact 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture. The Impact 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture cannot use Bowens speed ring adapters.

Has anyone used LED bulbs as replacements for the ones included? My local hardware store has 5,000K LED bulbs and they even will use less power (13W) compared to the ones supplied (26W).Also, the description say the fixture is only rated for 200W total. But the box it comes in says 600W total or 150W per socket. Has anyone received the 600W fixture and used bigger bulbs?

This is designed for a max load of 200W. All four lamps put together should consume no more than 200W. I currently use this with 4 x Philips 100-Watt Equivalent T2 Twister CFL Daylight Light Bulb (23 watt, 1600 Lumens, 6500K) and it works fine for my needs. Total cost for four bulbs was less than $10 at my local home improvement supplies store.
