Spider SPIDERPOD overview

  • 1Description

Designed for the professional videographer and news crews who need to raise their camera's viewpoint, the unique Spider Pod elevates you and your tripod two feet - with speed and rock solid stability.

With the Spider Pod you can now easily shoot above crowds and capture unobstructed, stable images. Large staging risers are often used as camera platform. However, as you shift your footing, the camera and tripod may shake, producing an unstable video image. Add multiple shooters, or use the camera zoomed in with a long focal length and the problem becomes significantly worse. The Spider Pod eliminates all this by featuring a separate tripod riser and separate standing platform - providing rock solid support.

Unique design allows set up within 30 seconds
Supports all standard tripods with spreaders or feet
Works with ENG or Studio configured cameras
Tripod riser supports up to 200.0 lbs., the standing platform up to 300.0 lbs.
Includes a padded carrying handle

    Spider SPIDERPOD reviews

TR2SP2 Spider Pod System is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spider Pod System This works great for the events we film. Camera op can shift their weight around and not shake the camera. It takes up very little space compared to the hotel risers we used before. Quick setup and breakdown. We have two and love them. Highly recommend getting a case for it. We started without cases and both units started getting scratched and dinged. Now they ride in comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solution! We used to lug around heavy platforms to isolate our cameras from the operators and that got old real fast. This Spider Pod system is a fantastic solution for setting up a quick tripod platform and a standing platform during any shoot! We also purchased a carrying case for the unit so that it packs well in the truck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rock solid I used one of these at a high-profile corporate award ceremony. I'm a big guy but I never felt uneasy standing on the platform. Had no trouble figuring out how to set up or dismantle. As someone else mentioned, it's heavy and awkward to carry, even folded up - but that's why it's so sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Independence and no more heads I use this product to record seminars. In the past I have had to wait for the hotel staff to get the riser from the back room from the underworld. It has always taken over an hour on average to get it from them. Not anymore. This thing does truly only take about a minute to set up. In the past the client has wailed and moaned about how much space the riser is taking, resulting in lost seats resulting in lost revenue. Not anymore. This thing takes up very little space. It does not block peoples views, and I can get much closer to the podium. It doesn't shake because the riser and the stand are separate. My personal pet peave has also been eliminated. In the past conference attendees have used the hotel provided riser as their personal workspace and wide body couch, causing the riser to move despite all the precautions I've taken to make sure it doesn't. Hands down Awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome You will always need a small riser or step to get your clean shot in any venue, so, this is exactly what you've been dying for ! Compact, tough and resistant, this spiderpod will change your way of filming conference, wedding, concert, church meeting, etc ! I've been using it for a few years, and needed to buy a second one !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! But overpriced! This product is great! Very sturdy and collapses nicely. It is pretty heavy so don't think you can carry it long distances. It is however overpriced for what it actually is. But being that this is a one of a kind product I guess the can charge what they want until some competition comes along. I wasn't the one who had to pay for it, so price didn't matter. I need one for my personal use, but no way would I shell out that much money for this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, high, and compact I often find myself filming from the back of a crowded auditorium. Getting the venue to provide a riser to stand on is often difficult, expensive, or impossible. Often I resort to propping my tripod on chairs, which is unsteady, and standing on a chair myself. Now I can bring in the Spider Pod and be a solid two feet above the crowd. I haven't yet used the Spider Pod for venue recording, but I've set it up at home. It's very stable, and folds down into an easy-to-carry unit. It was heavier than I expected. Although the word spider conjures images of mesh webbing, the Spider Pod is made of metal, and it's about forty pounds. It's still portable, but I'm definitely ordering a wheeled case to save my back. At over two thousand dollars, this is not for the casual videographer. Still, it's a quality product, and I haven't seen anything else quite like it yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from too expensive Great idea and kudos for invention but too expensive especially when adding the price of the case. I would like to see a rolling case or a handle and wheels integrated into the design especially for news/documentary shooters as 42 pounds takes the run out of run and gun.
