You can use the WD 4TB Elements Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive with a PS4 as external storage. Just choose the format as " Extended Storage" through the PS4 settings.

Yes. It needs to be formatted using FAT32 or exFAT, and if you want to back up a full drive, the external drive should have at least the same capacity as the internal drive.

Hi! I don’t understand if the disk has USB 3.0 or 3.1/3.2. Are these compatible? Which would i need?
As the other person said, this is a USB 3.0 drive but can also plug to computers with a USB 3.2 or USB 3.1 port. Generally USB drives are 'backwards compatible' (works with older USB versions) and 'forwards compatible' (works with newer versions), so almost any USB drive will work in almost any USB computer / laptop / TV etc - the difference is that if the device and the thing you're plugging it into are both higher versions you get faster and better performance.
I have a bunch of these portable WD drives, and I find them great - I generally use them as my portable backup drive when travelling (I copy photos / videos onto them as I travel around, because I'm paranoid).
