Steadicam continues to innovate. What's special about the Steadicam AIR 25 Monopod is that to adjust its height you simply step on a foot pedal located on the bottom. This gives the flexibility to adjust on the spot whenever you recognize an opportunity to capture a lower or higher angle or even continuously adjust back-and-forth between the two. This is great for when capturing something like a dance performance, wildlife, sporting events or other fast-paced motion. When you push the pedal, it simultaneously holds the monopod secure on the ground while allowing you to adjust the height.

Steadicam AIR-25 Overview

Steadicam continues to innovate. What's special about the Steadicam AIR 25 Monopod is that to adjust its height you simply step on a foot pedal located on the bottom. This gives the flexibility to adjust on the spot whenever you recognize an opportunity to capture a lower or higher angle or even continuously adjust back-and-forth between the two. This is great for when capturing something like a dance performance, wildlife, sporting events or other fast-paced motion. When you push the pedal, it simultaneously holds the monopod secure on the ground while allowing you to adjust the height.

Because of their compact size and ability to be moved in all directions — including pushing in — while providing genuine stability, monopods are considered very useful camera supports in run-and-gun productions, including weddings, fashion shows, and other events. What the Steadicam AIR 25 does with the push pedal is to add an element that allows you to take advantage of nearly all opportunities that present themselves.

Made of carbon fiber, the Steadicam AIR 25 is very lightweight, at just 3.5 lb, adding even more to its versatility. And it offers a high weight capacity of 25 lb — so you can mount full-size, fully-loaded cine cameras as well as super long lenses.

question

Do you have a storage bag that fits the monopod AND the video head? Can you recommend one? The case that comes with the purchase fits only the monopod. A simple canvas/nylon type bag with draw strings at the top would be sufficient.
Asked by: John H.
The Steadicam Air 25 and V9 head are a B&H kit even though Tiffen manufactures both of these items. Tiffen does not offer these two items as a kit, B&H has combined them to be sold together. We do not offer a storage bag that would accomodate both the monopod and head.

question

If using on a beach can sand get into the monopod segments or is it fully sealed? Can it be used in the rain?
Asked by: Matthew
Like any tripod or monopod, you should not lay this down on the sand or get sand inside. You can operate it on the beach, just wipe any sand off to avoid it getting inside the monopod. Operating the monopod in the rain is not an issue, we would advise against submerging it however.

question

Is the gas movement smooth and controllable to create fluid up and down movement with video camera to be usable, ie smooth start and stopping? Is the speed at which the pod moves up and down adjustable or just one speed?
Asked by: Matthew
The movement up is smooth, but does come to a stop when it reached its max height or you let off the foot pedal. Speed up is controlled by depressing the foot pedal, you can press lightly and go slow or hard and go faster. Going down is controlled by your hands (you must push down) and heavier cameras will be easier to push down due to gravity and may be smoother.
