SKB Fly Rack 13" D Overview

The polypropylene copolymer resin case is strong, waterproof, and resistant to dirt, dust, corrosion, and more. Its automatic pressure-equalization valve prevents damage caused by drastic changes in air pressure. The molded-in hinges contribute to the case's sleek appearance and add additional protection. After a lot of research, I decided on this portable rack for occasional remote recording gigs where I unrack studio gear. It's lightweight yet durable, and its unique design allows the rack to lift out to put on top of a desk or table. The rack has metal rails, and rubber feet which can be stacked with multiple units. During transport, the rack is suspended with structural foam with room for sway all around. I use it with a Furman PL-Plus C on top with an Apollo x8p and some shallow patch panels. Cabling travels separately with my configuration to save case space. The wheels are nice and wide, travels over grass well. The latches are unique to me coming from Pelican, they're design is secure but easy to open quietly, and has TSA locks built into two of the front latches. The pull-out handle is tall enough for me at 6', with the button to unlatch the handle on the right it's a little awkward to push as I'm right-handed but it's not a deal-breaker.

The internal dimensions of the SKB 3I-2317M146U iSeries Injection-Molded 13" Fly Rack are 23 x 17 x 14" (58.4 x 43.2 x 35.6 cm).

Some of the pictures show these racks with the sides pieces off and some on. The plastic side panels appear to be sitting in a groove, what's the best way to remove the side panels without damaging them?

The side panels on the SKB iSeries Injection-Molded Fly Rack - 6 RU, 13" Rack Depth (B&H # SK3I2317M146) are not removable - and doing so will void your limited lifetime warranty. SKB does offer different configurations of their fly rack and some models do have open front, back, and sides, such as the SKB iSeries Injection-Molded Fly Rack - 6 RU, 20" Rack Depth (B&H # SK3I2424M146). If you look at the actual frame of the rack, you can see that there are differences in construction.

Does this fit the blackmagic atem switchers? They ...

Does this fit the blackmagic atem switchers? They are 19" across. New to this so don't know what the standard size(s) and this doesn't show any indication it will work for standard rack mounted blackmagic hardware.

Does the rack itself (not the case it fits in) ...

Does the rack itself (not the case it fits in) have rubber feet? i.e. to set it on top of a guitar cab and clear the top handle of the cab.

No, the rack does not include rubber feet. You can certainly modify the rack and add them if you would like. You may also be able to use something like the SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System 4-Pack (B&H # SVSPSISOSY4P) placed under each corner of the rack to isolate the components from vibrations as well as to elevate the rack above the cabinet's handle.
