I have an ancient Orion Sirius mount with an ancient v3 hand controller. The hand controller developed multiple issues and had to be replaced. Considered buying a new v5 hand controller but decided to try this SynScan Wi-Fi adapter instead, given that it's $95 cheaper. It works great; no problems connecting to mount with iPhone running SynScan Pro app. Pointing accuracy is much better than I was getting with the old v3 hand controller (when it was still working); has breathed new life into this old mount. This setup also eliminates one cable connection to the mount (no hand controller-to-mount cable), so now the only physical cable going to the mount is the power cord, which is good. There is the additional small convenience of not having to manually enter date, time, etc. into a hand controller when setting up - the SynScan phone app automatically has this info. The hand controller's physical buttons makes it easier to slew the mount while keeping eye on eyepiece, because of the tactility of the physical buttons, which is a definite advantage of the hand controller

This does not. It is powered from the Mount.

Does this work with Celestron scopes/mounts? ...

Does this work with Celestron scopes/mounts? (Specifically a NexStar SLT). In other words, can you use this instead of a Skylink module?

According to Sky-Watcher the Sky-Watcher SynScan Wi-Fi Adapter BH #SKS30103 • MFR #S30103 will plug into the same port as the SynScan hand controller and allows you to control any Sky-Watcher SynScan mount from your smartphone running the free SynScan Pro WiFi app for Android or iOS devices. It is not compatible with Celestron.

Does it work both from any standard web browser AND from a smartphone app (iPhone & Android)?

No, the Sky-Watcher SynScan Wi-Fi Adapter does not allow for control through a web browser. This can be used with the free SynScan Pro app for Android or iOS devices, or the Windows application.
