Does it work well in the next room with a wall in between? (only about 12 feet away)

While specifically designed for line of sight use, it can work for a shorter distance, 10-20 feet, with an obstacle like a modern interior wall.

What if the amplifier does not have an RCA output -only speaker level out?

An amplifier that only has speaker outputs would not be compatible with this wireless system.

Can I connect this to my Marantz PM6006 amplifier? It does not have a dedicated sub output.

You would do that by going from the receiver into one of the RCA inputs on the Marantz amplifier. Your sound source would connect to the transmitter, from the RCA output or 1/8" output of that audio source.
