Great smaller size backpack

I was a little hesitant to purchase this small bag, but I only needed to take part of my gear with me to this concert event so it was perfect. It doesn’t take a lot of space and you can unzip the front flap and access all of the equipment.    I packed this bag extremely tight, maybe a little bit more than what the bag was designed for! But it is perfect for what I needed it for this event, and easy to carry on my back.   I have included a photo of this bag (like I said, it was packed extremely tight)!! I had my Nikon D850 camera body with my 28-300 MM lens attached, the speed light SB – 5000, a Tamron 17-50 MM lens, and my Nikon 2.8  70-200 MM lens. And the side pockets were large enough to put spare batteries, SD cards, and anything else small that I needed along with the extra zipped pockets in the front. For someone looking for a small bag, I highly recommend it! Especially for the price… You can’t beat this backpack .

Good fit, comfortable, but not great as a sling

I found this bag to be perfect for my Nikon D5100 with the 55-300mm lens attached. Ample room for 2-3 other lenses, which makes for a high functioning kit. Flash unit, batteries, cables, etc., stow easily in the top compartment. Easy access in front for 4 SD cards. Comfortable for extended wear. The build quality seems decent and definitely above expectations for the price point. My only complaint is that in sling mode, it doesn't do so well at all. It's much less comfortable to wear and when slung around for access, it's quite awkward to retrieve the camera. Loosening the straps to the point that it was easy to retrieve the camera in sling mode meant the pack hung way too low on my back to be comfortable or effective. Verdict: as a backpack, it's great. Perfect size for a DX camera and a respectable complement of glass & accessories. Comfortable, carry-on size, meaningful padding. All good. As a sling pack, it didn't perform well at all. I gave up on sling mode, even though that's actually what motivated me to buy it in the first place.

Unfortunately, the USA GEAR U-Series UBK DSLR Camera Backpack does not have an iPad or tablet pocket. It has a small pocket in the front usually used to carry battery, chargers, and filters. If the tablet is very small it may fit in there, but it is not made for holding or protecting a tablet.

The side pockets - there is only one, correct, since the other side opens up into the bag? So I would have to choose either for the water bottle or for the tripod? And for a water bottle - is the pocket deep enough the bottle won't tumble out?

The side pocket is deep enough for a water bottle and there would be a cinch strap to secure it further.

How much does the entire bag weigh? The specs said the interior weighs 2.5 lb but the package weighs only 2 lb. It doesn't make sense, unless some part will be missing when delivered.

The USA GEAR S17 DSLR Camera Backpack weights in at 2 lbs. The numbers in the specs are reversed. The package weights 2.47 lbs.

USA GEAR S17 DSLR Camera Backpack can only fit your Nikon D5300 with camera with Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens attached through the top compartment. You will need to re arrange the dividers.
