While it is still early to say much about this item, I am happy with the initial quality of this backpack. I like that there is space for my camera equipment and my laptop.

All in all a good buy. But, they're weren't thinking when they put the tripod holder on one side without adding a water bottle holder on the other side. You have a choice. Add a tripod or a water bottle but you can't do both.

Lots of space and a convenient modular setup

This backpack has a lot to like about it! As a camera backup, it has plenty of well-secured velcro dividers that can be moved in multiple configurations. The side opening for optimal access to the shooting camera is a huge plus. The top load with full-sized (and sturdy) velcro-attached floor makes for easy access to smaller items. The dedicated zippered laptop sleeve is excellent. Overall, the way the backup is set up makes going through airport security a breeze. The chest and waist straps do a good job of transferring the weight of the backpack off the shoulders, however making them removable would have been a plus, since they hang and drag significantly when not in use. While most of the backpack (zippers, velcro dividers, general material used) is extremely solid and high quality, the side pocket is basically only good as a base for a tripod when used with the (removable) clip strap. Trying to hold anything else in the side pocket (such as a water bottle, which I've done with all my backpacks for decades) is impossible, as the pocket is shallow and the drawstring does not hold tight with any kind of movement or pressure. It made the pocket useless. A couple small zippered pockets were helpful, as were mesh enclosures in a few key places. Overall, this is an extremely versatile backpack, good for a full camera setup, a mix of camera and other uses, or with the dividers removed, a solid and convenient everyday backpack. A few key changes would've resulted in 5 stars (I rated it 4, but it's more like 4.5), but for the price, you can't find anything that can do this much. Strongly recommended!

Fairly priced, versatile and s

Love the versatility between backpack mode and sling pack. The shelf that divides the gear area from the daypack top compartment is removable but unflimsy. Side access for easy cam grab is a pleasure. Sufficient organization mesh pouches including four dedicated SD slots. Ample bottom padding leaves me confident to store my laptop caseless in the dedicated sleeve without concerns for bumps. This is by no means a premium product but it is well designed and assembled for the price point. I would love a few additional organizer sleeves for passport, notepad, pens and documents but, overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

question

What material is the bag made of? Whether its water proof/resistant?
Asked by: Pranjit H.
i'm not 100% not what the material is (didn't see it labeled anywhere), but it doesn't seem like the type to be damaged by water. the zippers though are definitely not the water repelling type, so you'd want to use the included rain cover if you think it's going to get wet. probably not a good backpack to use if you're planning to leave it in the bottom of a boat or canoe or somewhere else where it'd be sitting it water for a while.
