The SmallRig Baseplate with Dual 15mm LWS Rod Clamps provides front and rear rod support for your cine-style camera. The baseplate mounts on a separately available dovetail; the two 15mm rod clamps can be used separately or together on the baseplate.
Baseplate features include a nonslip top surface, multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera mounts, and thumb-lever locks. A center slot provides front-to-back adjustment for optimally positioning your camera on the baseplate.

It is annoying that despite being a smallrig rod mounting plate that the smallrig camera cage only has one female thread to screw this mounting plate on to. Imagine all the dancing and wobble the rods do. Quite disappointed with the mounting options between Smallrig cage and smallrig rod mounting plate. No particular issue with the unit itself other than that it never stays locked simply because despite all its allowances for locking this on a cage the hole spacing between cage and mounting plate are all different. C'mon SmallRig!!!!!
I purchased four of these to make my own quick release assemblies for four different camera setups. They are heavy duty and when accessorized with Manfrotto, Axler or any other quick release plate system you have an instant setup for pretty much any camera you decide to use. I've attached rods to all four of my setups and in about thirty seconds I can modify it as a shoulder rig system with a Shape offset forward handle and shoulder pad attachment or a sophisticated tripod mount system ready for any accessory to attach to the rods or the various cages I've purchased from B&H. I've literally saved a bundle building my own rigs piecemeal with this product. I like it so much I've purchased four.
