Lensbaby Sol 45mm f/3.5 Reviews

The Lensbaby Sol 45 photo for Sony cameras is not correct. The actual lens is much larger.

The image of the Lensbaby Sol 45mm for Sony cameras that appears on the Lensbaby and B&H websites do not match the size of what I received. The image on both websites appears to be a small pancake-sized lens. What I received was a much larger lens about 2.5 inches long. With the ocus-tube extended, the length is about 3.0 inches. THis is not the fault of B&H, but I've only given it 3 stars instead of 4 stars since IMO, small size is highly desirable. Overall, it's still a good product. I will keep it, but it wasn't what I expected size-wise.

Super Fun

Very fun to use, sharp in the center and just a joy to use in my personal projects. I may use it on my paid projects as added value to the client.

How is this different from a Lensbaby Sweet 50mm lens?
Asked by: Andrew
The main difference is how they mount to the camera. The Sweet 50 requires a Composer Pro lens to attach to the camera while the Sol 45mm has a direct lens mount.

With a Nikon D750, do I use Aperture priority? Is this lens difficult to learn how to use?
Asked by: Lynn
Yes, you do. The instructions in the manual will tell you to use Aperture. I use the D750 also. Lensbaby are all manual focus so it can be a challenge to use. My eyes are not the best so I do have to work at the focusing. I just bought the Velvet 85 and it is challenging also. But that being said, I love this little lens! It really can be fun. Here is a shot I did with the Sol 45. https://www.flickr.com/photos/kellykayhorne/48922189672/in/dateposted/

Is it avalable for the canon mirrorless?
Asked by: Daphne
I do believe it comes as an RF mount for canon mirrorless. You might check the lensbaby website for confirmation. My old lensbaby canon ef lenses do work with the canon EF/RF adaptor. You have to set the camera to shoot without a lens for the shutter to release.
