  • 1Description

Create unique-looking photos with the selective-focus SOL 45mm f/3.5 Lens from Lensbaby for Sony E-mount cameras. With 8.5° of tilt, this lens lets you easily isolate a subject within the frame and surround it in blur and smooth bokeh. The lens also features a center-locking feature that will lock the lens into place for dead-center focus. Furthering its creative potential are two adjustable bokeh blades that can add slight lines or textures to bokeh. This manual-focus lens also has an all-metal construction and accepts 46mm filters.

    Lensbaby Sol reviews

Sol 45mm f/3.5 Lens for Sony E Cameras is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea with mediocre optics I purchased this lens just to understand if it can replace my two Tilt'and'Shift lenses. Well... if you never tried the real Tilt'and'Shift lens, this toy could be OK, otherwise it is not bad for the price, but optically it is quite mediocre. Artificial bokeh with some plastic pieces inside the lens is a joke and can be used as an effect once in a life. For the second time is looks boring because such "bokeh" make all pictures the same. In general, I decided to keep it and maybe will try it again in couple of years. As of today, I'm sure some hipsters will enjoy it. I personally have no use for such lens, so far...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review After Ten Minutes I have the Sweet 35 with Composer Pro. I've had it for years. For sure it's challenging but I bring it out when I'm feeling creative and occasionally get some very nice images. Using Sony focus peaking really helps... But I find the Composer to be a bit fussy and fumbly. When I saw the Sol the other day, I was impressed that it's smaller. Taking out the aperture variable also seemed like it would make the process easier. At the price point and with B&H's return policy I gave it a go and got it in 24 hours!... I did a quick dozen shots on my A9- yes the Sol supports full frame. I got a couple of images that look very good. The sharp parts are way sharp the the out of focus parts are so buttery- haven't tried the bokeh blades yet.... The Sol just seems like it's more solid and easier to use than the Composer. It's like a little rock- heavier than expected... It's a keeper...
