The Oben QR-53 Long Lens Quick Release Plate is an aluminum-constructed Arca-type dovetail plate that provides quick release functionality to larger telephoto lenses. It is compatible with cameras and smaller telephoto lenses as well. The 5.3" long plate has two slide-adjusting, 1/4"-20 mounting screws that mount to the bottom of a lens collar foot, and one of the screws can be removed in case the foot has only one socket. The screws provide a secure fit by tightening down with the D-rings, but you can also use the included hex key or a screwdriver in the slot. Two safety stops prevent the plate from sliding out if a clamp is accidentally opened.

Oben QR-53 Reviews
The Curse of the Arca Standard
This plate seems sturdy, the black finish looks and feels to be of decent quality, and the rubber pads provide friction to help keep things in place. The issue I ran into is that this plate is too narrow in the critical dimension (width) to work with all of the different Arca-type receivers/clamps I tried it in. It fits well in an Oben QRA-A2 for example, but in a Kessler Crane Kwik Release Receiver, this slightly-too-narrow plate cannot be fully clamped in place. For those who don't know: this is a reoccurring theme when dealing with arca-compatible plates, as 38mm wide is not a true standard, and is treated by many manufacturers as more of a guideline. Small dimensional variances, be they intentional or accidental, can make items incompatible. For example: A Desmond DPL-115 plate I measured is 37.95mm wide, and works with all the receivers I tried it in. This plate measures 37.64mm wide, and does not. One-third of a mm can make all the difference. What is surprising to me is that a different Oben QR plate I have (the QR-10) measures 38.3mm wide. That's two plates from the same manufacturer with a difference in width of two-thirds of a mm. In a situation like this, that's a lot! Perhaps Oben needs to take a look at their quality control (or the QC of whatever factories they contract with). tl;dr: this plate may or may not work with all of your clamps/receivers, but the best chance of success is with clamps that allow for more variance in plate width.
Great plate!
Using this on my Nikon 800mm to balance the lens on my ball head for stationary shots, works perfectly. Great value
Sturdy, flexible positioning; good fit in Arca
I bought the plate to go on the Nikkor Z 100-400mm (nb: same foot as the Z 70-200mm); because a full new arca foot was expensive. The QR-53 fits okay _except_ that you need to move a screw to the centre whole as the minimum distance in the two channels is too long. This doesn't seem a problem and the plate holds tightly. There is plenty of length to adjust a the camera on the tripod to how you like it afterwards; plus it gives you more to hold when carrying. Overall - does what it says at a fraction of the price of a new foot.
It works
Does what it's supposed to do
Just what I needed
Bought this as an upgrade to the plate that I had because it was too short. Perfect purchase and I'm more confident that the lens won't fall off given better contact with the collar. Rugged and well made.
Quick release plate
It does its job
steady
steady and strone, no play at all.
does not fit Canon RF 400 F/2.8
2 screws cannot align but you list it as a recommended option for the 400 lens. This should not be listed as compatible.... Only fits one thread..needs both!
