Does this scanner scan old stick 3 ring photo ...

Does this scanner scan old stick 3 ring photo album pages or will it cause a jam? I am pretty sure I will have to use a flat bed for those.
Asked by: kimbery
Scanning these may cause issues. I would suggest scanning the photos individually, not attached to the album sheets.

Can I scan old thicker photos from the early 1900's?
Asked by: Carol
No. This scanner scans fairly heavy photographic paper but no more than that. The scan path is not flat and you won't want to make a crease in an old print.

Is the tiff file that this saves just a re-saved ...

Is the tiff file that this saves just a re-saved jpg file? in other words does it scan in jpg and then simply save the jpg as a tif. I read that a photo curator talked with Epson about this and they said that the tifs were re-saved jpgs and there fore had compression artifacts
Asked by: Elliott
Not sure if this helps, but Epson tech person suggested downloading Epson Scan 2 software and use this with FastFoto 680W to be able to save to a "true" lossless tif file format. I just downloaded the software and have not used it yet, therefore, can't speak to how well this works.

Does it work with Mac Big Sur ?

Does it work with Mac Big Sur ?
Asked by: Herbert
I am very pleased with my FF-680W but I use it with Hamrick's Vuescan software. Hamrick's updates free for every Mac operating system iteration, so I never worry. The power of Vuescan is that it stors custom setups of the scanner for special jobs so you don't have to reinvent the wheel to scan this month's reports,
