This is the case for the Nikon 500/5.6 PF lens, but it also happens to be just about perfect for the 400/4.5 Z lens.

Bought this for my 400mm f4.5S Z lens, and also my 70-200 f2.8. Works great with either one. Case is very high quality, excellent protection.

The Nikon CL-M5 Lens Case is designed to work with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Lens which thicker and longer than the Nikon NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S Lens. B&H # (this case) NICLM5 unfortunately does not fit a Nikon 200-500. B&H # (this case) NICLM5 is for The 500 mm prime which is about 1" shorter. The following would fit the 500.
