Can this cable be used to charge camera or battery in camera while turned off - plugging it into another type of USB-AC adapter which plugs into electrical source....ie Apple USB-AC adaptor. I am looking to utilize an Apple adaptor with an EU plug.
It would be best to stay with Nikon UC-E24 USB Cable, and it is fine to plug it into the camera when the camera is not on to charge, the connection will start the charging.

Will this cable work for charging and transferring data from my Z5II to the computer?
The Nikon UC-E24 USB Cable supports data transfer to your computer but it does not support internal charging. For charging the battery I would recommend the Watson Compact AC/DC Charger for EN-EL15 Battery, BH # WACNIENEL15 MFR # C-3410.
