Compact, lightweight, and close-focusing, the RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM from Canon is a unique wide-angle prime mixing the versatility of a general wide lens with the specialty of a 1:2 macro optic. An advanced optical design is benefitted by a Super Spectra coating, which helps to control flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color accuracy when working in bright or backlit conditions. Capable of focusing down to 6.7" at half life-size, this lens is ideal for photographing everything from close-ups of plants to street scenes and landscapes. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture offers increased control over depth of field and also suits working in a variety of lighting conditions. Complementing this is a five stop-effective image stabilization, which minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. Also, an STM motor affords impressively quiet and smooth autofocus performance and full-time manual focus override. Additionally, a configurable Control Ring lets you adjust exposure settings, including ISO, aperture, and exposure compensation, from the lens itself.

Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM Reviews
Great All-Around Lens
This lens is exactly what I've been looking for in an all-around, everyday use lens.
This lens is cool
It take nice pictures. Nice focal length and sharpness. It is lightweight and compact a good all around lens stunting portraits.only negative is, it did not come with a lens hood.
A Great 35mm macro lens
A great and sharp, wide angle/macro lens for when I am shooting in tight conditions and flowers.
just great
loved it, sharp image, excellent pictures
Buy it!
I love this lens for both landscape and macro. Very sharp and no aberration. Highly recommend.
Amazing!
I rented this lens once before I bought it and I love it!! I've been using it for couple/proposals and its incredible. I thought about the 35mm 1.4 but this was a much better deal and provided great results. If you're just starting out, this was a great investment and first lens.
Very sharp
Works great with the R5 focus bracketing.
AF is too noisy
Love its being a macro lens and at $449 is still a tad overpriced. It build quality feels plastickey and the elements inside the lens being a little loose. On the plus side, it's compact and its sharp modern character makes it suitable for product photography with contrasty colors. I don't find it bad wide open but like most lenses, it gets better when stopped a couple of stops down.
