Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 16L Reviews

Best Bag I've ever found

By John

I have so many camera bags: Peak, Manfroto, all the big names. This is the best of them all. Bag is split in half vertically, both sides open up and can be latched together for easy accessibility. Each half has compartments on the top for the small stuff. Great padding on back, good straps. I stuffed 2 MF3rds camera, one in each side with lenses, one of them the big 40-150, plus 3 more lenses as well as batteries and chargers. My apple air computer went in the special back compartment. I'll keep the bag loaded this way for easy grabbing and out the door. It is the 16 liter. I'm buying another one for my 2 Fuji H-1s and lenses so it will go out the door when I want the APC system.

Nicely designed, light alternative

As you get older you start to look for ways to lighten your load. A trip to Glacier NP this fall reminded me that even as lightly as I could pack my current backpack, it was still heavy. Reading a review this bag, it seemed exactly what I was looking for. Very light, about half the weight of my current bag - to be fair it is also slightly smaller than my current bag. It will take a bit of time to get used to the butterfly feature, but seems to be well thought out. I have a Nikon Z7II, about 5 lenses, filters, batteries and other accessories. Probably would be most appropriate with a Micro 4/3 system. My 200-500 5.6 zoom might fit if I wanted to dedicate one whole side to it, but this isn't practical for me. Looking forward to getting out in the field to see how it works in practice.

A great upgrade

I already have the larger Gura Gear bag that I used with my DSLR and lenses. After changing to the smaller Canon R5 and RF lenses I bought this one. My gear fits perfectly. I love the blue highlight striping. It should stop me from spilling lenses on the floor with one side left unzipped - as I have done with the larger bag.

Excellent rugged, versatile and lightweight bag

The butterfly type opening of the bag is wonderful and the primary reason for the selection. Its lightweight and rugged outside construction also add to the reason for selection. On one side I have the Nikon Z camera attached to the 500 PF tele and all the midrange and wide lenses with another Z. Plenty of rooms for all other stuff. The weakest part is the attachment for the tripod. For a lightweight traveling tripod, it is OK, but not for the regular tripod. I have many bags, but this one is used for my wildlife and nature photography.

Excellent. Love the zippers!

I have never used zippers that are so smooth. The bag is excellent for a small photo kit - mine holds a Sony FF camera attached to 1.4x and 100-400 lens on one side. In the other side I have accessories both for camera and non-photo. I could put another lens and some accessories instead.

Just Right

I just turned 83 yrs old and decided to lighten the load. Bought 2 4/3 Lumix cameras with a variety of lens. Now a bag. The Gura 16L looked like a good one and purchased it. This bag holds more gear then you could imagine. 2 bodies, 5 lenses (100-400), filters, flash, cards, etc and still had some room. Zippers were smooth. Butterfly effect was nice to split the cameras. One side reg camera the other side for infrared. I would recommend this bag and B&H delivered on time

A little different opening procedure but still very easy. Well made and just the right size for mirrorless Sony gear.

I do wildlife and landscape photography ....over the years I have found guragear to be the best solution - I normally purchase the larger model a number of times but needed a smaller version for a small plane - this bag carries my 200-600 sony with two ai bodies, 24-105 with ease

Will a Z7, D500, Z 105mm micro, Z 14-30, Z 24-200, 300PF, 500PF, SB-5000 flash, batteries/charger and a few filters fit or do I have to go up to at least the 22L or 30L? ... and if I pulled the D500 would the same equipment fit in the 16L?
Asked by: Cliff
It will be very tight fitting 2 bodies, 5 larger lenses, a large flash, and accessories in this bag- moving up to the 22L model will offer a better fit. If you remove the D500 body, everything should fit since the flash will essentially take up the same space as a second camera body.

Will this fit under the seat in a regional jet ...

Will this fit under the seat in a regional jet and also a regular jet? Will it fit in the overhead of a regional jet?
Asked by: Kim
The answer on whether the Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 16L Backpack (Black) would fit under the seat or in the overhead compartment of regional jets would depend on the specific airline and plane/jet on which you will be traveling. As there is no specific standardized size for all airplanes, and smaller airplanes may have less room under the seats or in the overhead compartment, it would be best for you to contact your airline to inquire about the maximum dimensions allowed for carry-on luggage. For many domestic commercial flights, the linear dimensions should add to less than 45 inches, so the above case should work for most larger domestic commercial flights as its linear inches add up to 35.05 inches.

Bag seems like it is designed for running through airports rather than hiking miles in the wild. Not much information concerning the suspension system and tripod support. Will this bag support a tripod with a camera mounted to it?
Asked by: Michael
The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 16L Backpack (Black) has outside straps that can be used to attach a tripod--the bag is 16.5" tall, so it's very possible to carry a tripod on the outside of the bag. A tripod with a camera on it might not work so well.
