SmallRig 2225 Reviews

Won't fit with grip attached

I installed a Sony AG-R2 Attachment Grip when I bought the RX100. This cage won't fit over the rubber grip, and it isn't designed to be easily removed. (I have the SmallRig cage for my A6400 and absolutely love it) I decided to return this one and keep the smaller profile of the RX100. I was buying it more for protection than to attach accessories.

Beware, does not fit RX100 VII

The case is solid but it blocks the HDMI port. I had to return it. Otherwise, it is a solid cage. Can't wait for a VII version

So are you saying it blocks part of the hdmi port on the VII? But it clears the mic input right?

Not sure what the RX700 is that David mentions. Short answer: Yes, but with one blocked port. With the RX100M7, Sony introduced a Mic port on the camera. So, there are now 3 ports on the right side, instead of two. The SmallRig 2225 (For RX100 VI) fits the camera like a glove, but the HDMI port is partially blocked by the cage. Modification with a Dremel would fix it. If you use the HDMI port frequently, you might want to hold off until SmallRig releases an update, or be prepared to remove a little bit of metal from your SmallRig product.
