The ss412 is a very well built piece of equipment. B&H had the item delivered ahead of when I expected it. Great service.

This does exactly what I needed: to switch between two analog inputs. It's solid, quality-made, and does what it says it will do very well.

Is this safe to connect to from multiple pre-amped sources? Or will the circuit between preamps close when it switches and fry one of them?
Asked by: Dan
This is safe to use when you need to connect and switch from multiple line level audio sources to one audio line level input on a playback device only. Please note this is not intended for use with any audio sources carrying power intended for speakers.

If I am using this to switch between 2 turntables, will it work using the phono-level signal from each or should the signals be preamplified before going into the switch?
Asked by: Benjamin
1. "...will it work using the phono-level signal from each" Maybe. 2. "...or should the signals be preamplified" Yes. I would only use a passive switch of this type to select among 'line level' sources.

Can I blend the audio in one of the Input selections (let's day Position 2) from two Audio sources connected to two separate Inputs (let's say Position 1 and 3) without producing a ground loop or unwanted noise/hum?
Asked by: R
No, only one input source can be selected at a time. It is not possible to combine multiple input sources. Perhaps the Rolls MX28 Mini-Mix VI Compact Stereo Line Mixer (B&H # ROMX28) may be more along the line of what you need. This item appears when you choose "speaker switch" in the B&H search box. It appears to be a source switch. Can it be used as a speaker switch?
Asked by: John
This item is actually a source selector for a singular pair of speakers or a single output. If you were looking to switch between speakers you may be interested in a monitor selector like this one BH #PRMSV2.
