Sometimes called a space light, the Angler Cylinder Omni Softbox is ideal for most 18 to 20" Round LED Lights and lives up to that description by dispersing a 360-degree beam spread of illumination over a wide area of space when suspended by a boom or hung overhead. The Cylinder is ideal for raising the ambient light level to tame aggressively used kickers or other accent lights as well as opening up shadows to reveal details, but this is just one of the effects that this modifier will deliver. The Cylinder and its circular bottom are made from translucent polyester, but for those who want a little crispness without sacrificing the omni-directional light, the bottom diffuser zips off completely.
Yet another quality-of-light possibility is provided by an optional skirt - basically a form-fitting, black fabric that blocks the emitted light from one side of the Cylinder to add direction or a light-to-dark ratio. This particular skirt however, has a silver interior that reflects the blocked light through the open side, maximizing its output. Purchase of a second skirt will allow you to completely encircle the Cylinder, casting all of the output downward in a crisp circle of light, or a soft one depending on whether or not you use the bottom diffuser. With omni-directional and directed light, soft or crisp output, or a combination of all of these types together, the Cylinder Omni Softbox is more than a modifier - it's a light transformer.
