Sometimes called a space light, the Angler Cylinder Omni Softbox is ideal for most 18 to 20" Round LED Lights and lives up to that description by dispersing a 360-degree beam spread of illumination over a wide area of space when suspended by a boom or hung overhead. The Cylinder is ideal for raising the ambient light level to tame aggressively used kickers or other accent lights as well as opening up shadows to reveal details, but this is just one of the effects that this modifier will deliver. The Cylinder and its circular bottom are made from translucent polyester, but for those who want a little crispness without sacrificing the omni-directional light, the bottom diffuser zips off completely.

What would be the best way to flatten the material? It's extremely wrinkled.
The Angler Cylinder Omni Softbox for 18 to 20" Round LED Lights being wrinkled should not matter. However, you can try a steamer on its lowest setting, but you would need to be very careful not to melt the material.

Would the smaller reflector dish of the NanLite Forza 60 be too small to effectively use this space light?

Will this thing cinch tight enough to fit on an Impact Porcelain Socket (BH #IMSPUM), and how well does it handle heat from say, a 500W tungsten globe?
The product title indicates "LED Lights". I do believe that the heat of a 500W incandescent would be a fire hazard.
