Rokinon SP 35mm f/1.2 Overview
Wide-angle 35mm f/1.2 prime is designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras, however can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 56mm equivalent focal length.
Fast f/1.2 maximum aperture offers a high degree of control over depth of field for working with selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques. Additionally, it also benefits working in low-light conditions with slower shutter speeds.
Two aspherical elements and three high refractive index elements are featured in the optical design to control spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness throughout the aperture range.
One extra-low dispersion element is used to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to achieve greater clarity and color accuracy.
An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize ghosting and flare for increased contrast and color neutrality when working in strong lighting conditions.
Manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 1.1' away.

I purchased this lens to photograph the Milky Way. The lens was very well packaged by B&H, with bubble wrap around the lens box and air pillows for the shipping container. I tested the lens on a star-lit sky, looking at the center and corners. At f/1.4 the stars were pin-point sharp, much sharper than f/2.8 on my Canon EF 16-35 f/2.8 III at 35mm. This is a great lens!

This not truly a review because I have not quantified resolution, distortion, etc. I have carefully compared close-up photos taken with 35mm and 70mm Sigma Arts and I see little difference. This lens appears to be quite sharp, even wide open. Focusing is just lovely – the damping and throw suit me very well. I was concerned about focus shift, but if it is there, I don’t see it. This lens suits my needs quite well.

No, the Rokinon SP 35mm f/1.2 Lens for Canon EF will not work with the electronics for a Sony adapter.
