Special Performance series lenses have been a highlight of Rokinon’s ever-growing lineup—they sport ultra-fast apertures and the ability to support high-resolution 50MP sensors and 8K video. The SP 35mm f/1.2 is the latest in the series and is designed specifically for full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs. An impressive 12-elements-in-10-groups design makes use of three High Refractive elements, one Extra-Low Dispersion lens, and two aspherical elements, as well as an Ultra Multi Coating, all of which corrects for aberrations to deliver a superb image.
This wide-angle lens is exceptionally fast for its focal length, with its f/1.2 aperture, and has a manual-focus design for precise, tactile operation. It does support communication between the lens and camera, enabling Exif support and various Canon shooting modes. Its premium aluminum construction is durable and appealing. It joins the SP 14mm f/2.4, SP 50mm f/1.2, and SP 85mm f/1.2 to become the fourth in the Special Performance series.
