Can this scanner also be used as a conventional flatbed scanner? is it a suitable replacement for my Epson 13 x 19 GT-15000 scanner?
It doesn't have the ability to scan slides or negatives like other flatbed scanners and the max resolution is 600 DPI (600 DPI is sufficient for most typical scanning needs.) '
That said, the Plustek works like no other flatbed in scanning books and magazines. The design allows you to scan right to the edge of the front of the machine, allowing a clean scan into the gutter of bound materials.

Can I run the Plustek Opticbook A300 Plus from a Mac just to scan? Or do I have to install Bootcamp?
You will need to install Bootcamp as there are no Mac drivers.
