Gitzo GS5370DR Reviews
Good if you have a Gitzo ballhead
Not quite as well thought out as RRS plates, but good if you're using a Gitzo ballhead. The textured strips are not as good as RRS's molded ridge when it comes to keeping the camera body from pivoting on the screw mount -- but the Gitzo works well enough. Gitzo's screw with its swiveling bail allows for easy tightening by hand or by screwdriver or coin. RRS has a screw that must be tightened by a tool.
Works as expected
Provides excellent support to my RF 70-200 f/2.8 L on a Gitzo GH4383QR head. For RF 100-500 I use long and adjustable GS5370LDR for better balancing. Please note that the plate upper platform is relatively big (55mmx70mm) and is wider than its lower Arca-Swiss profile. While it provides excellent support on a big head with big clamp, it might be overkill for a small head and/or small camera body.
