I bought this adapter on a whim so I could experiment with a few '60s-vintage Nikkor lenses on my Canon 80D. I paid a little more for the focus confirmation feature, feeling it might be useful. I'm usually a pretty good judge of product design so I was amazed to find that, while the adapter itself works just fine, the metal shoulder inside is just too narrow to secure the little printed circuit board that transmits focus confirmation to the camera. In fact, the circuit board is simply glued(!) in place and had come off during packaging, leaving me with the equivalent of the basic version of this same adapter. As a result, I feel a 3-star rating is justified for this particular product. I can't fault Fotodiox's metalwork, but that's about it. The only other issue I've had with this adapter occurred with one of the Nikkor lenses. Necessarily, the adapter must mate very tightly to the base of each lens. In the case of my 55mm prime, the adapter actually comes in contact with the ring that has to be rotated to change the f-stop. This might be the result of warping or wear on a 50-year-old lens, but it obviously limits the usefulness of the adapter in that case. Final note: While it's been fun experimenting with 20th century lenses on 21st century hardware, even with quality Nikkor glass, the results are nowhere near as satisfying as what I get from my Canon lenses today. So, be forewarned and adjust your expectations accordingly!

The product works great and functionally gives you the ability to focus manual lenses on Canon camera's without focus peaking. The adapter itself is awesome and functional at connecting the two lens mounts. But the circuit board with the lens mount electrical contacts are only glued or epoxied to the ring. It broke off (the epoxy came loose from the metal ring) after the first use.
