I do not know ? - the determining factor is ... it depends on your gear and it's weight... I use an Olympus Mirco 4/3 camera and lens combination ... which is smaller and lighter than the full frame cameras and lens ... and with my shorter 4/3 length lens ... it works!

does this unit put a lot of stress on the glass? ...
does this unit put a lot of stress on the glass? I am concerned that the glass may brake if using a big lens ? Thanks.
The stress on the glass depends on the camera + lens of choice, and the quality of glass being used.The clamp has a range up to 0.5" thickness for glass, but if using tempered glass try to stay within 3lbs-4lbs to avoid stress on the glass.
