The ET-2204 Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod from Sirui is a 4-section support with a flip leg lock system that you can disengage to give you the ability to extend the legs along with the standard rapid center column to a maximum height of 57.1". With its three variable leg angles and independent leg spread, the tripod's legs can conform to uneven terrain; splaying the tripod's legs out and switching the standard center column to the included short column, the support can go to a minimum height of 5.3". The legs fold in the reverse to a compact 16.9" to travel with the tripod, and the rubber feet on the legs prevent the tripod from sliding on smooth and flat surfaces. In addition, the feet retract back to reveal metal spikes to further stabilize the support on softer terrain.

Sirui ET 2204 Reviews
Better than expected!
I wanted a lightweight travel tripod. I travel less than I used to, so I didn't want to pay Gitzo or RRS prices. Reviews for the Sirui ET-2204 were very favorable. I decided to order one and I am really glad that I did. It perfectly fits my needs. Lightweight, but still very stable and strong. I am super pleased and I would recommend it!
Good, not Great
I purchased this to replace a 10 year old tripod that finally gave up on me. It's intended use us daily real estate photography shooting. I mounted a Benro head on it and noticed the first issue. Unlike my previous tripod, the center post cannot rotate. Since that is a feature, not a flaw, I blame myself for not noticing that prior to purchase. The next issue is just the overall feel. It is about a pound lighter than my last CF tripod, but it feels a bit flimsy. To remove wiggle in the center columb, I have to really crank on the tension to the point I feel like it's going to break, or the rubber padding is going to slide off. Also, once fully tightened, the tension knob rotates freely about 15 degrees back and forth. This slop doesn't fill me with confidence that the tripod will last long under prolonged use in my business. However for the price and the weight, I'm going to keep it and put it to work. I think next time I'll spend a bit more for a different brand however. Now, for a more casual user, the size, weight, features and price DO make a nice package.
