Viltrox Automatic Extension Tube Reviews
Macro photography
The tubes work great for shooting flowers. And insects.
Not compatible as advertised
So soft at the outer 2/3rds of the image it's unusable when used with the Fuji XC 35mm f/2. B&H lists that lens as compatible. If you must buy this, save your box so you can return it. I'm stuck with a $30 paperweight even though B&H said it would work.
Worked ok with a Canon RF5
I got this extension tube set for use with a Canon RF5 and a 800 mm f/11 lens with a 1.4 x extender. The 20mm extension reduces the minimum focusing distance from ~20 ft to ~ 14 ft. The auto focus works, so the electrical connections seem to be good. The connection between the camera and lens also seems to be adequately tight with no looseness. I was concerned that there might be connectivity problems with a relatively inexpensive tube set, but so far so good.
Cheap but effective
The build quality is awful, they are cheaply made but they fit ok on my Z7 and 105 macro, and they do what they are supposed to do. At the time of purchase this was one of the cheapest options, but I still feel like I overpaid. I've never had any other extension tubes, so maybe they are all like this, but I'm disappointed with the quality for the price. If you get them on sale, maybe its a decent buy. Cheap lightweight plastic, a bit sticky or clunky trying to get them on and off, I always feel like they are going to break. They do work though, so there's that, once fully engaged the fit has no wobble but I don't expect them to stand up to the test of time.
OK
I could not make it the electrical part work whit any of my lens, bust anyway it makes macro effect in manual lences.
Stay away from this Extension tube
Both extension tubes are manufactured with very loose tolerances. They wobble on the camera and the lens wobbles on the tubes. In my opinion it is totally worthless for macro work. I should have paid attention to some of the previous reviews.
This is simple to use
I added 36mm to 250mm lens now I can get dragonflies. And see them like I want. Easy cheapest thing I have done. The Extension Tubes seem well made. I wouldn't think buying Canon brand would make sense. Unless it's job thing. Then you may be sponsored anyway.
Outstanding Item
