Does the Profoto app only work with the A1 light? If so, are there plans for the app to control other lights like the B10 in the near future?
Asked by: Dave
On the one hand, the latest version of the "Profoto Camera" app (v2.5.2 from February 2021) is listed by Profoto as being compatible with the Profoto C1 and C1 Plus. It offers automatic exposure and flash power control with those as well. The manufacturer also lists the Profoto B10, B10 Plus, and A10 as being compatible in full manual mode. The current version of the "Profoto Control" mobile app (v1.1.4 from February 2021) is listed by Profoto as being compatible with the Profoto Connect, B10, B10 Plus and A10. Profoto has not made any announcements with respect to their intentions regarding app compatibility into the future. The above information is current as of mid-March 2021. To obtain the most up-to-date information, please check the Apple App store or Google Play store for the latest versions of the Profoto apps.

If I only want to use this in Auto, do I still need an iphone 7 or greater? Can I update the connect w/o the iphone App?
Asked by: rhonda
If you don't want to change settings using the app, the transmitter will be set to channel one, group A. You can still change strobe settings on the strobe itself. You'll need the app to update the firmware.
