As the name "Switch" hints, Westcott has introduced a line of softboxes designed for setup and rapid swapping out of different brands of strobes and speedlights in seconds. The 36" Rapid Box Switch Octa-M Softbox with FJ400/Bowens Insert is a good choice for use in the studio or on location for head and shoulders portraits, fashion, advertising, or corporate work. The large surface area of the softbox gives its output a wraparound quality especially when used close up. Another benefit is the reflection of natural-looking catchlights in your subject's eyes. As indicated in the name, the softbox has a basic ring to hold it together, but instead of full speed rings, 13 "inserts" are available and are required for a speedlight or specific brand of strobe. The quick release thumb-lock on the Rapid Box Switch ensures the security of your light. Besides the benefit of speed, the softbox is structurally sound with durable metal framework, heat-resistant fabric, and a reflective silver interior that maximizes your light source's output. The Rapid Box Switch Octa's diffusion material has also been thoroughly tested and found to be neutral, ensuring a true rendition of color. This version of the softbox comes with an insert that fits FJ400 and Bowens flash heads. A carry case is included for storage and transport.

We tcott Rapid Box Switch Octa Reviews
5 & a 1/2 stars
I loved the first Rapid Box Switch Octa that came out. I used it a lot of on-site jobs. After about 4 years of use the metal rods started coming through the removable front diffuser. Recently I purchased a new Rapid Box Switch Octa, and I love the way they designed a cover over the rods. So when you put the diffuser on the Octa, there is a cover over the rod tips, So the rod tips don't break through the front diffuser. I have to give this a 5 and a 1/2 stars. Thank you, Westcott, for the clever design. And thank you being an age for super fast delivery. As always :)
Another great Westcott product..
In all honesty the only upset I have is that there is a universal speedlight insert that they also sell, but since I strictly use the FJ80's it was still a good purchase. Beautiful system, easy to transport, opens fast and is durable, and a amazing EDU deal for a 48 inch? I love it for outside and indoors, upgrading to a 7 footer soon.
