RS232?

If you can't see the screen for setup, you either press twice then enter while pausing in between, or, you order (if you don't have one) an RS232 to USB interface and then adapt the end to match the connector. I haven't seen RS232 on my computers for a couple of generations now. The scaler has a USB Host interface to do firmware updates, why not a USB interface to configure? That's my main complaint. It has been working great after I finally got it running. So far it's been solid.

Good Video Scaler But....

I purchased this video scaler to convert UHD to HD from a 4K Roku. The actual down scaling of pixels with this product looks very good. It did not pass Atmos sound as claimed. I had to position it after the sound processor to get any sound through it. It altered the video image severely with the factory default video settings. I used a serial port on it with their software management tool to eliminate the problem. I would not purchase this product if you cannot access these setting with a Windows PC and an RS-232 connection. The setting do hold through power cycling. Every video source is converted to 60 Hz. There is no pass through function for frequency. It does accept 24 Hz sources. Every video source is converted to RGB. No option is provided for YCbCr output. It runs fairly hot. I turn it off when not in use.

The Muxlab 4K/60 HDMI Video Scaler supports "supports video sources up to 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz" and "scales up video to 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz". It should work fine for a 1920 x 1080 60 Hz to 3840 x 2160 60 Hz conversion.
