The MAP-2A is the successor to the MAP-2 that I also have, with the main difference being that 2 has a single knob to control clamping on the two 15mm rods, whereas the 2A has two knobs, one for each rod, which is claimed to be more robust. The holes on the sides where the thin side plates mount to seem to be a better fit than on my MAP2. Overall it's a well built plate and I appreciate the retention screws that don't fall out and that you can screw the Arri top handle into it, and you can stick it on the top or bottom of the Alexa Mini. Nearly all the screw holes have slots for the locating pins, which is nice. My main criticism are that it's very expensive and that somehow they've designed the layout on it so that there just aren't that many options. Almost all the holes are the 3/8 size, so if you have accessories that are 1/4-20, particularly if you want them centered horizontally in the plate, you have like two holes to work with and they're adjacent to each other. So yeah, just make sure you've got 3/8 screws with locating pins on everything you'd want to stick on top of or below this plate and you should be fine.
